Hot and sour chicken soup is a comforting, restaurant-style dish that perfectly balances tangy vinegar with fiery pepper, packed with shredded chicken, crunch vegetables, and silky egg ribbons.

Ingredients
  • 200 gm Boneless Chicken
  • 1 Egg (Beaten)
  • 1 Large Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 inch Ginger (finely chopped)
  • 8 cloves Garlic (chopped)
  • 2 Green Chili (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Carrot finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Cabbage
  • 1/4 cup Capsicum
  • 1/4 cup Beans
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 2 tsp Soya Sauce
  • 1 tsp Chilli Sauce
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 2 tsp Cornflour Slurry (1 tbsp cornflour+2 tbsp water)
  • Coriander leaves (optional)
  • 2/3 pieces of Spring Onion
  • Salt to Taste

    Boil the Chicken
    1. In a Pan put 4 cup of water
    2. Add Chopped Onion
    3. Add Chopped Garlic and Ginger
    4. Add Boneless Chicken
    5. Add Salt 
    6. Boil for 20 minutes

    Make the Shredded chicken
    1. Strain the boiled mixture into a bowl.
    2. After cooling remove the chicken and make them shredded.
    3. Keep the stained broth

    Final Preparation
    1. Heat 1 tbsp of oil over medium-high heat.
    2. Add ginger, garlic, and green chili.
    3. Saute it for 30 seconds
    4. Next add  carrot, capsicum, beans, and cabbage.
    5. Saute for 3-4 minutes.
    6. Add chicken broth and let it come to a boil.
    7. Add soya sauce, chili sauce, black pepper powder, salt, vinegar, and sugar. Stir to combine.
    8.  Now add shredded chicken. Stir to combine. 
    9. Add egg slowly creating a thin ribbon. Gently stir it.
    10. Let it come to a boil again.
    11. add cornflour slurry. Add 1 tsp and mix. Check the consistency. If need add one more tsp.
    12. Cook until the soup thickens. The soup will become glossy and thick.
    13. Add Coriander leaves (optional) and stir them well.
    14. Remove from heat.
    15. Hot and sour chicken soup is ready to serve. Garnish with spring onion greens.
