Ilish Bhapa - Steamed Ilish with Mustard Seed and Raw Mustard Oil

Preparation

- Wash the Fish and cut into pieces.
- Take 4/5 pieces from the middle portion of the fish.
- Grind Mustard seed with some water in a mixer grinder and make a paste.
- Mix all the ingredient into a bowl and mix well.
- Rub the mixture to the fish pieces.
- Cut Banana leaf to smaller size.
- place a single fish piece in the banana leaf
- Pour some more mustard oil over the fish piece
- Place one or two green chilli over the fish
- Wrap the banana leaf and repeat the process for all the pieces.

Steaming
- Place the steamer over cooktop
- Fill up with sufficient watar
- In upper layer place the fish pieces
- Close the cover and make the steamer to steam for 20 minutes.
