Ilish Bhapa - Steamed Ilish with Mustard Seed and Raw Mustard Oil

Preparation

    1.  Wash the Fish and cut into pieces.
    2. Take 4/5 pieces from the middle portion of the fish.
    3. Grind Mustard seed with some water in a mixer grinder and make a paste. 
    4. Mix all the ingredient into a bowl and mix well.
    5. Rub the mixture to the fish pieces.
    6. Cut Banana leaf to smaller size.
    7. place a single fish piece in the banana leaf
    8. Pour some more mustard oil over the fish piece
    9. Place one or two green chilli over the fish
    10. Wrap the banana leaf and repeat the process for all the pieces.
  1. Steaming

    1. Place the steamer over cooktop
    2. Fill up with sufficient watar
    3. In upper layer place the fish pieces
    4. Close the cover and make the steamer to steam for 20 minutes.
