Ingredients

For Marination

For Coating

Instructions

  1. Marinate

Clean and pat dry the prawns. In a bowl, combine the prawns with ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, lemon juice, and salt. Let them marinate for 20 minutes.

  1. Mix Coating

On a flat plate, thoroughly mix the semolina, rice flour, and a pinch of salt.

  1. Coat

Take each marinated prawn, discard excess moisture, and press it firmly into the rava mixture so it gets an even, crusty coating.

  1. Shallow Fry

Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan or tawa on medium heat. Place the coated prawns in a single layer without overcrowding. Pan-fry for about 2 to 3 minutes on one side until golden, then gently flip and crisp the other side for another 2 minutes.

  1. Serve

Remove and drain on a paper towel. Serve hot as a starter with a wedge of lime or as a side with rice and dal.
